Here’s a quick recap of what we talked about with details after the jump:
- Forms
- Competing in the SCCSC
- Events
FORMS
We simply had everyone fill out some of the necessary forms for this year. Below is a link to the forms on the website. Everyone has to fill out the Rec Sports form complete with your insurance (you can use your USC insurance) and policy number. Everyonehas to fill out the Trojan Integrity/Code of Conduct form.
Only if you are racing do you have to fill out the other two forms: the Mammoth Release form and the SCCSC Liability form. Once you have printed and filled out these forms, turn them into the Ski Team mailbox at the Lyon Center. It would be extremely helpful if you all could turn in these forms within the next couple days.
COMPETITORS: Fill out all 4 forms
EVERYONE ELSE: Fill out 2 forms. Rec Sports form and Code of Conduct form
Be sure to fill out both sides/pages of the forms if the form has 2 sides!!!

COMPETING
Once again, we want to encourage everyone to be a part of the competitions this year. It is very laid back and not nearly as intimidating as it sounds. None of the officers had ever raced or competed prior to college! This is the best time to get into it.
When signing up to compete, you do not have to commit to any amount of competitions – you choose what you want to do and when to do them. We offer ski GS, snowboard GS, ski slalom, skiercross/boardercross, halfpipe for boarders and skiers, and slopestyle for boarders and skiers. GS and slalom competitions only take about 45 minutes – the freestyle events take longer but you can ski/board between your heats so you have a lot of time to freeski/board when you want!
Check out this video of some of the competitions last year. Hopefully if you are still on the fence about racing it will help encourage you, and if you weren’t ever on the fence it will help you get up onto said fence and then henceforth go to the other side where fun and lasting memories await you.
EVENTS
We want to hear your ideas of what you want to do. If you know any cool movie premiers going on, or want to plan a structure bomb, let us know! We’ll try to keep the list of pre-season things going so we can all have sweet things to do together before we ski/board.
FACEBOOK
Rather than sending you all emails for little events like structure bombs and get togethers, I’ll be sending out announcements via our USC Ski & Snowboard Team fan page on Facebook – please ‘become a fan’ of us! Feel free to post sites you come across of deals, or events that you’d like to go to!
Thanks again for coming to the meeting! In a couple weeks we will be having our Housing Meeting so stay tuned for that.A
