Busy Busy Busy
I haven't made an update in a while, but I will as soon as I get a bit of a break. Here is just a portion of the work I've been doing lately. Couple that with 8 pairs of 4frnt ski designs for the 2009/2010 season completed over the summer and it adds up to quite a bit.

On an unrelated note, I may be forced to leave school for the current year so if anyone needs a website/employee, I could potentially add quite a load of work or try my hand at an internship if the opportunity presents itself.

West Coast Session 2008 Artwork

Abe Kislevitz 4frnt Skis

Ethan Stone over at Newschoolers.com asked me to return for the 2nd year and help them out with the artwork for the West Coast Sessions event. The whole vibe of the event is laid back and meant for sessioning and getting sweet photos and videos, so we wanted the artwork to reflect that. I created this artwork (top) for the posters/fliers/web banners/park passes. I also created the artwork for the T-shirts, which were given out with the registration of the event (below). The design for the shirts is a simplistic approach to mirroring the poster style.

Windells
Windells skate ramps, foam pits, and trampolines were an excellent way to spend the evening after a day of skiing.

A big thanks goes to Ethan for putting the event together and being a great host; also thanks to newschoolers.com, Amplid, and Windells. Read about it more at newschoolers.com

4FRNT Grom 2008/2009

Here are a few pictures of the two lines of skis I did this year - the 4FRNT MSP and Grom. I'm working on adding a full page in the portfolio section for each of these in the near future so stay around. Got some positive feedback at SIA about the designs this year, always something good to hear!

Freeskier Gear Girl Poster
4FRNT MSP Gear Girl Poster
Every September, Freeskier has a buyer's guide with all of the new products. In addition to having the 4frnt lineup, they had a fold out poster in the middle with some 2008 gear. The 181 MSP's I designed are featured across the center, among other things.
Some nice exposure for the skis.

Powder Magazine Article - Updated with Pictures
4frnt msp Abe Kislevitz art ski designs graphic design powder magazine 2008In this year's issue of Powder Magazine's Buyer's Guide, they ran a small story on my skis - the 2008 MSP line. It talked about mural skis and the art on them. They called me up asking a few questions; however, they seem to have forgotten to add that stuff.. along with mentioning my name.

In other news, the 2009 line of MSPs and Groms are finished. We are putting the final touches on the 2008 4FRNT website as well which should be launched later this week or next.

4FRNT Website Complete

The 4frnt website has been a project I've been working on somewhat on and off since April of this year. These last few weeks held a lot of long nights exporting image after image and writing out a lot of codes. After all of this I think we've managed to deliver a quality website that will hopefully increase traffic/sales and let the company show off it's great line up of skis.

You will probably notice that the website has a striking resemblance to my own site. I actually created the original 4frnt template and navigation system way back before I made my own website. I figured the 4Frnt stuff wouldn't be out for a while so I used it for my own site. I guess it's time to change my website!

Site Update
I've gone through and updated a few areas of the site with some new information and added a bunch of pictures. I'm currently out of school for the summer and working hard on about 6 different projects with new requests coming in almost daily. My goal for the month now is to tackle all 8 of the 4FRNT Ski designs that need to be done.

West Coast Session Artwork

I recently created the promotional artwork for an event called the West Coast Session.

"The Session goes down on April 28 at Timberline, where the park crew is preparing a custom-built terrain park just for the jam. Add in free lunch on the hill, a DJ, plenty of schwag to give out from Sweet Protection, and a wad of cash in $5 bills, and you've got yourself the first Newschoolers West Coast member gathering, going down West Coast style. I got to test my new skis last week finally. It even dumped in Mammoth for the first time this year just in time. I can't say enough good things about the construction and look of the skis this year.
Check out the line of Matty & Abe skis; the STLs have gold too.

SIA Las Vegas 2007
Abe Kislevitz at SIA with 4frnt MSP

Yesterday I took the day off from classes and ventured over to Las Vegas to visit the annual SIA Ski & Snowboard Show. 4FRNT was unveiling the 2008 lines of skis, and it seemed appropriate that I attend, since I designed 7 pairs of their 2008 skis.

It was exciting to see all the new designs the companies are coming out with this year, and also nice to note that 4FRNTs graphics stood out as some of the better looking ones overall (based on my opinion mixed with comments from other people). It's always fun to hear what people think about your art and witness their reactions when they see it.

I'm featured on 4FRNT homepage!
Thanks to Matty Jeronimo, and his excellent photography skills, he was able to compose a good looking photo of me in Mammoth last June. It is temporarily being used as the homepage image to www.4frnt.com.

This is the second time I have been on the front page of 4FRNT.  The previous time it featured my art across the front page accompanied with an interview about me and my eccentric family.

pretty cool.
