Kalle was a dominant force on the competition circuit this year. Of the 16 comps he entered, he finished in the top-10 fifteen times, the top-5 fourteen times and ended up on the podium 9 times. He is the reigning champion of the Ruka Fabulous Slopestyle, the Austrian Open Slopestyle, the Nippon Open Superpipe and the Finnish National Championships, where he beat out US Open Champion and fellow countryman AJ Kemppainen. Kalle also became the first non-mogul skier to be named Freestyler of the Year in Finland -- a title previously held by skiing greats Janne Lahtela and Sami Mustonen. He also finished second overall in the World Cup Halfpipe standings behind 4FRNT rider Matt Hayward.
