At the end of last year, GoPro came to us with a bit of news. First off, they said our videos were exactly the type of thing they wanted to show off what anyone can do with their little cameras; and second, that they were coming out with epic new HD cameras at the end of 2009 that would blow us away.
They asked the USC Ski & Snowboard team to aid them in creating an HD Promo video of skiing that they could use at trade shows, in press-releases etc. Where can we ski during the summer? Oregon! We met up at Timberline in July, grabbed some lift tickets courtesy of GoPro and went to town with the new cameras.
We had X-Games pipe skier Tucker Perkins to help us out with some tricks, along with Chris Farro, who lives a quick skip away from the mountain during the summer. I had just returned from a week trip up in Whistler at Camp of Champions for 4frnt Team week and had unfortunately suffered a pretty severe heel injury up there. I could ski down the hill but there were to be no epic jump follows. Either way, in a few short hours we got these shots and were absolutely blown away by the quality.
Fast forward to now and GoPro is filling orders and shipping these things like mad – demand is on an insane level. We’re stoked to be working with GoPro and appreciate all that they’ve done with us so far!

There is some rolling shutter artifacts that you’ll have with any digital camera under $750, but any stutters, hesitations, framerate drops, etc. are either your system, your connecion, Youtube, or something else. If you notice any stuttering at the beginning of the vid with the logo coming at you, then it’s your system, because that was computer generated and obviously not taken with the camera.

[..YouTube..] @haha48 u mean premiere pro cs4? cuz that will do everything u need. I use afterefffects, which takes time to learn, but you can find presets for color correction online so you dont have to spend time tinkering and makes things easier. But ya, Premiere pro CS4 and sony vegas will do it.
[..YouTube..] just got a gorpo hd, its STUNNING! you can shoot with this sort of quality straight out the box, If you want to make decent movies, get one. Pinkbike is a cheap place to get them, and I recommend getting a handlebar/pole attachment aswell.

i cannot find any good rendering setings. the best i have found is WMV at 720p, but the file is way to large (300mb). im trying to get it around 100 – 150mb.

[..YouTube..] @chinchilla505 is right, you cant make this with Windows Movie Maker. your gonna need Adobe Premiere which is HELLA expensive or get something like Sony Vegas…. those 2 will allow you to cut and add your videos together in HD… Adobe AfterEffects will allow you to add some spice to the movie if you want.
